WELCOME TO BURNET HILL- Principal Jessica Williams

Livingston Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment

of Jessica Williams as the new Principal of Burnet Hill Elementary School. An

accomplished educational leader with nearly two decades of experience in New

Jersey public education, Mrs. Williams brings a proven track record of strategic

instructional leadership, curriculum innovation, and community collaboration to

Burnet Hill. The Board is expected to approve this appointment during its public

meeting tonight. She will begin her new position on July 1, 2026.

Mrs. Williams joins Burnet Hill from North Plainfield, where she served as the

Director of Elementary Education. In this district-wide executive role, she

spearheaded major instructional initiatives, including the successful

implementation of a K-4 Dual Language Immersion program, a comprehensive

district-wide rollout of modernized reading and mathematics curricula, and the

deployment of the New Jersey Tiered System of Supports (NJTSS) to enhance student interventions. She was

also a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, guiding district-wide staffing, organizational priorities,

and improvement efforts.

"Mrs. Williams is a visionary leader whose extensive experience in elementary curriculum development,

data-driven instruction, and early childhood education aligns perfectly with our district’s goals. Her passion for

fostering inclusive environments and strong home-school partnerships will undoubtedly enrich the Burnet Hill

community,” said Dr. Daniel Fishbein, Interim Superintendent of Schools.

Prior to her role as a district director, Mrs. Williams served for seven years as an Assistant Principal for grades

Pre-K through 8th in Newark. During her tenure, she championed academic shifts that led to consecutive years

of over 20% annual growth in reading levels for upper elementary students and enabled 90% of Kindergarten

and first-grade students to meet or exceed end-of-year benchmark goals. Mrs. Williams also brings invaluable

foundational experience as a High School Social Studies Teacher Leader and as an Early Childhood Teacher

Coach.

"I am excited to embrace and celebrate all that makes this school unique and to partner with our dedicated staff

and families to continue creating an environment where every child feels safe, supported, connected, and

excited to learn each day,” said Mrs. Williams.

Mrs. Williams holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Public Administration from Rutgers

University, where she was inducted into the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in

History from Rutgers University and a P-3 Early Childhood Certification from New Jersey City University.

The district will provide opportunities for students and parents to meet and welcome Mrs. Williams following her

start date on July 1, 2026.
