Around Our Den
HISPANIC HERITAGE FAST FACT
Did you know? Chocolate originated in ancient Mesoamerica! The Maya and Aztec civilizations consumed cacao thousands of years ago, often as a bitter drink rather than the sweet chocolate we enjoy today. 🍫
Traffic Complaints
I spoke with Chief McNamara about the safety and traffic concerns raised on Ridge and Byron. He shared that police are working to increase the presence of marked and unmarked vehicles to discourage unsafe driving whenever possible. He also noted that an ordinance prohibiting U-turns went into effect last year, and signs are posted to remind drivers of this restriction.Police will continue monitoring traffic, but keeping our children and families safe requires everyone’s cooperation. Please drive carefully, follow posted signs and traffic laws, and avoid unsafe maneuvers even when an officer is not present. A few extra moments of patience can make a meaningful difference in everyone’s safety.
Lost and Found Items
Our lost and found is overflowing with sweaters, water bottles, and other belongings! We’re giving students additional opportunities to look for their items before unclaimed belongings are donated soon. Please check whether your child is missing anything and encourage them to stop by the lost and found. As a reminder, please label all belongings with your child’s name so we can help return them. Thank you!

The Bobcat Takeaway
🐾🐾 Bobcat Takeaway: We often ask children what they want to be when they grow up. Just as meaningful is asking, “Who did you choose to be today?” A good friend, a patient partner, someone brave enough to try again—those choices deserve celebrating, too.💙💛
